Gen has been an avid athlete and exercise enthusiast her entire life. Gen recognized that being able to perform well in a sport wasn’t necessarily synonymous with health and being healthy. She saw that people can do things well with their bodies while simultaneously (and unnecessarily) wearing down their joints. She became aware that even though you put your attention one singular body parts during exercise, the things you may not be paying attention to are still affected and that you need to work the body a whole if you want to really improve your health.
Gen turned her new interest into a career by becoming certified by AFAA (Aerobics & Fitness Association of America) and then became a student of the Resistance Training Specialist (RTS) program. RTS is advanced training for the exercise professional with a focus on biomechanics and an analytical/unbiased thought process.
The inclusion of RTS helps her custom-craft exercises that fit her client’s needs and mobile restrictions or current concerns.
Gen began personal training at Crunch in Naples and then moved to Symmetry where she could provide the ideal individual attention to each client without the distractions of a large, commercial gym. At Symmetry, she continues to advance her education by participating in ongoing study groups as well as take additional classes.
Being a mother of three children and having a career gives Gen the opportunity and experience of having to figure out how to incorporate and maintain a family and a lifestyle that includes daily exercise and eating right.
